ON THE NEWLY OPEN PIER 1!

Dreamgirls Dreamgirls (PG 13) – 2006, 130 min
Short: S From Hell by Rodney Ascher
DJ: DJ Conquerrah

Nominated for 8 Oscars and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Dreamgirls is the story of a trio of female soul singers who climb the pop charts in the early 1960's.  Loosely based on the Supremes, Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles shine in this heart-wrenching chronical of the group’s rise to fame.

Movies With A View is one of the city's premiere outdoor film series with an eclectic lineup of films and breathtaking views of the NYC waterfront. The films are chosen by an all-volunteer Film Committee and each feature is preceded by a short film, this year curated by BAMcinématik. DJs from Brooklyn Radio kick off the evening, spinning tunes as the sun sets and bike valet provided by Transportation Alternatives.

Check out the stars with Orion telescopes generously donated by Syfy! The Amateur Astronomers Association of New York will be at the movies to help you locate stars and planets in the night sky.
