SUMMARY:Bird Walk: Sights and Sounds of Spring Migration
DESCRIPTION:Due to rain, this event has rescheduled from Sunday, April 26 to Sunday, May 10. Register for the new date below.\nIt’s April and the annual spring migration is underway. Every year, millions of birds make long treks from their winter grounds (usually further south of us, where it’s warmer) to their nesting grounds. Some species will find their mates in our park and settle down to raise their babies and others are just passing through on their way further north. Join educators from Brooklyn Bridge Park and learn about this extraordinary annual, natural phenomenon. Discover how to spot some of our spring migrants, recognize their songs, and maybe even see a nest or two!\nWe will meet at the Pier 1 Pavilion. All ages are welcome and no birding experience is necessary. Some binoculars will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own if you have them. The walk is first-come-first-serve with 25 spots available. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.\nRegister Now!\nAccessibility Note: The walk will take place mostly on Pier 1 and we will largely stay on paved paths. There are some stairs, but we can use alternate routes depending on mobility needs. Bathrooms are located at the Pavillion. If you have any further questions, contact education@bbp.nyc.
