April 26 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Join us for a special Coastal Cleanup in celebration of Earth Day! Volunteers will help remove debris that has washed up onto park beaches with the tides, contributing to the health of our waterfront. You’ll also help document the types of trash collected—important data that is shared with the Ocean Conservancy to support global efforts in understanding and combating plastic pollution.

Stop by Pier 4 Beach anytime between 1:00 PM-3:00 PM to help us collect debris, and fill a bucket (or while the trash lasts!).

All volunteers must sign a waiver upon arrival using a smartphone with internet access or show proof of advance completion. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign a waiver on their behalf. Places are limited and this event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

All volunteers should wear closed toe shoes with grip. The activity may involve climbing up and down rocks.

If you have any questions, please email us on volunteering@brooklynbridgepark.org

Construction of the park began in January 2009.

Empire Stores and the Tobacco warehouse are both Civil War Era buildings

Long Leaf Yellow Pine from the demolished Cold Storage Buildings is reused as cladding on park structures and custom-designed park benches.

More than 5 million people visit the Park each year.

More than 13,000 timber piles support the piers in the Park.

Pier 1 is the only pier that is built on landfill rather than on pile-supported structure, which allows for unlimited weight restrictions and the creation of large hills.
