Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Educators in identifying and counting birds in the Park as part of the 28th annual Great Backyard Bird Count, taking place February 14–17. Be a part of this international community science event that counts birds across the world and collects data for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations. Learn more about the international event below.
On February 15, join for a special walk! We will meet at Pier 1 and walk through other areas of the park. We encourage you to bring your own binoculars, if you have them, but can provide some for those who don’t.
No birding experience necessary. Children are welcome, but this is an adult-oriented program.
This is a free event. Spaces are limited, registration is required.
The walk is currently at capacity. Join the waitlist to be notified if spots open!
You can still contribute to the count through your own observations – learn more below!
