Park Alerts & Event Updates

Events are subject to change due to weather or other extenuating circumstances. We do our best to update this page and respective event pages in a timely manner. If an event offers an RSVP option, registrants will be notified of changes by email and/or text (if opted in). We also post alerts to our Instagram and Facebook Stories.

Saturday, October 10: Morning Yoga will be moved to Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn due to Daybreaker ALIVE Festival taking over Pier 3.

We are always working to maintain and improve Brooklyn Bridge Park. Here you will find a description of current work and happenings in the Park that may disrupt some areas of use and cause location closures.

• Sections of Emily Warren Roebling Plaza and New Dock St. will be closed Sunday, October 4 through Friday, October 9 for Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Gala set-up, event, and load-out.
• The stairs around Jane’s Carousel will be closed for re-grouting Tuesday 10/13 to Friday 10/16. Jane’s carousel will still be open and accessible.
• Beginning Monday, September 14, the Pier 6 Water Lab will only be open when the temperature is over 80 degrees.
• Pier 6 Swing Valley’s Tarzan swings are currently unavailable – due to wear and tear, they have been removed and are being replaced with new versions in fall 2026.
• Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn is undergoing renovations and will be closed Tuesday October 13, 2026 until Spring 2027
• 334 Furman is undergoing a renovation as park offices and future home of a new Education Center. Scheduled Completion: Spring 2028. Learn more.
• Tom Fruin’s Watertower 3: R.V. Ingersoll has been temporarily removed from Brooklyn Bridge Park’s 334 Furman Street rooftop, due to building renovations. It is expected to be reinstalled in fall 2027.

Marine Maintenance Work – Fulton Ferry Landing (August-December 2026)

We will be conducting routine maintenance and repair work to the structural piles and surrounding bulkheads at the Fulton Ferry Landing. A work barge will be staged directly within the former Bargemusic slip. To safely accommodate local ferry traffic and work within low-tide windows, the majority of operations will take place overnight. The vast majority of the work consists of localized, underwater maintenance activities that generate minimal noise.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Seasonal Lawn Closures

As part of our effort to continue to provide high-quality organically managed lawns, we are closing select lawns for extended closures in April and May to allow them to revitalize during the spring growing season. We have also established a rotating lawn closure schedule for six park lawns with the highest usage, each closed for one day every two weeks from May to October, creating periodic rest so that they remain vibrant. These dates are subject to change without notice. We try to keep this page as up to date as possible, but sometimes schedules shift due to supply chains, weather, staff needs, or other impacts. We appreciate your patience while we work to make improvements and maintain the Park.

Winter Seasonal Changes

• Restrooms close at 10:00 PM, November-February
• Pier 2 closes at 9:00 PM, October-February
• Park-wide water systems (water fountains, water features, etc.) are shut off in mid-November and are turned back on in early April. In shoulder seasons, Pier 6 Water Lab will only be open when the temperature is over 80 degrees.
• Several in-park concessions and vendors operate seasonally and close for the winter; please check hours ahead of your visit
• In the event of snow and ice:
  • Pier 5 turf closes for snow/ice until melted; turfs are not shoveled or plowed to prevent turf damage.
  • Squibb Bridge, Pier 2 pickleball courts, and all playgrounds close until they can be cleared of snow/ice.

In late summer 2026, we have deployed an automated sensor-based counting network that helps us better understand visitor traffic patterns and park usage. This includes a mix of infrared sensor boxes and AI-cameras mounted at strategic locations throughout the park. Please note, the camera feeds are not recorded or live transmitted and do not utilize facial or individual recognition software. Only anonymous pedestrian/cyclist count data is captured.
