Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Announces Hilary Jager as New Board Member

December 9, 2022

BROOKLYN, December 8, 2022 — The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (Conservancy) is pleased to announce the election of Hilary Jager to the organization’s Board of Directors. The election took place at today’s Conservancy December 8 Board Meeting.

“Hilary makes a wonderful addition to the team,” said Chris Coffey, Conservancy Board Chairman. “Her background in public service and expertise as a co-founder of A Better Way provides valuable non-profit experience and insight to the Conservancy, especially as we look to expand our environmental education efforts.”

“Brooklyn Bridge Park is a destination beloved by tourists and New Yorkers alike — and with good reason thanks to the extensive programming offered by the Conservancy in this stunning urban oasis!” shared Hilary Jager. “Because it offers something for everyone, it is a park for everyone. I am excited to work with the Conservancy Board to continue to make the opportunities afforded by the outdoors – whether youth soccer, an educational class or a waterfront summer movie – accessible, enriching and rejuvenating for all.”

HILARY JAGER

Hilary Ley Jager is a co-founder of A Better Way (“ABW”), a grassroots, non-profit organization that promotes sustainable transportation and transformative, environmentally-conscious infrastructure in New York City. ABW is a member of the Coalition for the BQE Transformation, which is advocating for a corridor-wide reimaging of the BQE that will create more public greenspace and reduce harmful pollution that disproportionately affects communities of color.

Previously, Hilary was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, focusing on cybercrime and terrorism. Her work was recognized by numerous awards including the national Director’s Award for Superior Performance. Hilary also served as a law clerk to the Honorable John Gleeson, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, was a litigation association at Davis Polk and worked at the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project. Hilary received her J.D. from Stanford Law School and her B.A. from Williams College.

She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children. She also serves on the Board of the Brooklyn Community Foundation and the Advisory Board of the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mt. Sinai.
