Park Alerts & Event Updates

Brooklyn Bridge Park is open everyday of the year.

We are always working to maintain and improve Brooklyn Bridge Park. Here you will find a description of current work in the Park that may disrupt some areas of use and cause location closures. Event updates, such as cancellations or location changes, will be posted below.

Thank you for your patience as we improve Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Follow Brooklyn Bridge Park on Twitter for updates.

Temporary & Seasonal Closures

  • The Environmental Education Center will be closed for winter break (December 22 – January 14). Check the schedule!
  • The barbecue grills at Pier 5 Picnic Peninsula are temporarily closed until further notice while the city remains in drought conditions. This is in addition to existing bans on smoking, portable grills, and open fires in the Park.
  • The Pier 5 playground will be closed for renovations beginning September 3.
  • The restrooms at Pierhouse, beneath Squibb Bridge, are closed for renovations.
  • The Empire Fulton Ferry Lawn will be closed Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow the recently replanted grass to properly root and grow.
  • Changes to the NYC Ferry schedule are posted here

*These dates are subject to change without notice. We try to keep this page as up to date as possible, but sometimes schedules shift due to supply chains, weather, staff needs, or other impacts. We appreciate your patience while we work to make improvements and maintain the Park.
