BROOKLYN, September 20, 2016—The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (Conservancy) is pleased to announce the election of Graves Tompkins to the organization’s Board of Directors. The election took place at the Conservancy’s September 20 Board meeting.

“We are proud to welcome Graves Tompkins to our board,” said Mark Baker, Conservancy board chairman. “His professional expertise and dedication to New York’s cultural institutions will make him a great asset to the Conservancy.”

Graves Tompkins is a Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Partnering at General Atlantic, based in the firm’s New York office. Tompkins chairs the firm’s Capital Committee and serves its Human Resources Committee. He has focused on healthcare and financial services, and he currently serves on the board of Oak Hill Advisors.

Tompkins serves on the board of WNET (New York Public Television) and Summer Search New York, as well as the investment committee of the New York Public Library. He is the founding co-chair of the Alumni Council at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership and a board member of the Harvard Business School Club of New York. Tompkins is currently a David Rockefeller Fellow through the NYC Partnership. He is actively involved with the Family Business Community at the World Economic Forum and is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Tompkins graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. from Princeton University. He earned an M.B.A. with high honors from Harvard Business School and an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Tompkins and his wife, Colleen, live in Brooklyn Heights with their three sons.

“I am honored to support and serve the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, which enables all New Yorkers to explore and enjoy the outdoors and experience Brooklyn at its best,” said Tompkins.
