Nature Journaling: Bird Migration

Saturday, May 2, 2026 · 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Pier 3

Do you feel like you need a moment of pause and a deeper connection with nature? Join us on the first Saturday of each month for a free nature journaling workshop. The 90-minute workshop helps you start or expand your nature journaling practice, providing you with ecological context, thematic prompts and time to journal.

This month’s theme, “Bird Migration”, invites you to notice the diversity of birds in the park as we learn about spring migration.

This series is intended for adults, but all are welcome. Materials are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own materials and journals if you have them. This event is first come, first serve, with 20 total spots available. Advance registration encouraged but not required.

Accessibility Note: Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions. The paths of the pier are paved, and the workshop will take place around 350ft from the meeting location. The workshop will be held on the grass lawn which has minor inclines. Available seating options on the lawn include cushions, stepstools and sitting logs. The closest bathrooms are at Pier 2 (1,000ft) or at the Boathouse near Pier 4 beach (1,200ft).
