Expert Led Explorations: Kayak Ecology Tour (July)
Series:
Join for an educator-led kayak tour starting at Pier 2 Dock in Brooklyn Bridge Park! Paddle along the shore while you learn about the ecology of our estuary. Reservations required for this tour.
All participants must sign this waiver before participating. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before our start time in order to check in and ensure your waivers are signed.
Children under age 14 can paddle when accompanied by a guardian in a double kayak; children aged 14 to 17 can paddle in a single kayak as long as a guardian is present nearby. View kayaking FAQ’s below.

Sorry, no. For safety reasons, we cannot accommodate animals in our kayaks.
There are public restrooms at Pier 2 in the nearby orange building where you can change and lockers for 25 cents. Please note that items may not be stored overnight, any items found will be removed.
If you leave your items unattended promenade, please note we are not responsible for watching them.
Advance registration is highly recommended to guarantee your spot. Appointments open up exactly two weeks in advance. However, due to cancellations or no-shows, walk-up spots may occasionally be available.
Yes, kayaking may be canceled due to inclement weather or conditions. Check the Alerts & Updates page, but be aware that conditions on-site can change rapidly, requiring cancelation without notice.
Our kayaks are pretty stable and people rarely fall into the water. However, if you do fall in we have safety boaters on the water to help you get back in.
No problem! Beginners are welcome. The staff will explain all you need to know before heading out on the water. We have safety boaters in case you need additional instruction once on the water as well.
Yes, be prepared to get a little wet from the waist down.
Yes, if you find an item in the Park you can give it to any Park staff member or drop it off at our office at 334 Furman Street (near Pier 5). If you have lost an item please complete this form here, if the item is found we will contact you.
