Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Educators in identifying and counting birds on Pier 1 as part of the 29th annual Great Backyard Bird Count. This family friendly event invites you and your young ones to participate in this world-wide community science event. Learn and collect data for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada.
No prior birding experience necessary. Children are encouraged. Limited binoculars will be available so bring your own if you have them. This event is first-come, first-serve with 20 spots available. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required. Meets at the Pier 1 Pavillion.
Accessibility Note: If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact us at education@bbp.nyc. This program includes an approximately half mile exploration of Pier 1. The paths are paved, wheelchair accessible and on a slight incline. Bathrooms are available nearby in the Pier 1 Pavilion.
