Nature Journaling: Nests and Dreys

Saturday, March 7, 2026 · 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Pier 5

Do you feel like you need a moment of pause and a deeper connection with nature? Join us on the first Saturday of each month for a free nature journaling workshop, as part of our Peace In Nature series. The 90-minute workshop helps you start or expand your nature journaling practice, providing you with ecological context, thematic prompts and time to journal.

As we approach spring, this month’s theme “Nests & Dreys” invites you to observe and reflect on the many shapes a home can take. This workshop meets at the Park offices at 334 Furman St (near Pier 5) and will be mixed both indoor and outdoor.

This series is intended for adults, but all are welcome. Materials are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own materials and journals if you have them. This event is first come, first serve, with 20 total spots available. Advance registration encouraged but not required.

Accessibility Note: Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions. The workshop will start and end indoors at 334 Furman Street. The classroom is carpeted and is equipped with chairs for seating and a nearby bathroom. For a portion of the workshop, we will travel around 1,000 ft on concrete and asphalt paths to Pier 6. Pier 6 paths are paved, with the option to go on grass lawns. Step stools, cushions and benches will be available for seating while at Pier 6, and bathrooms available by Fornino’s restaurant on the pier.
