July 26 @ 7:00 pm 9:30 pm

On Friday, July 26, Brooklyn Americana Music curates a taste of their award-winning festival at Pier 6 Plaza with this free, all ages concert. Celebrating 10 years, their annual festival curates a blend of internationally recognized and up-and-coming music artists. Enjoy live performances from:

7:00 PM: Jan Bell & The Maybelles

Jan Bell and her band The Maybelles are Independent Music Award winners. Three part harmony, original country and Americana on fiddle, banjo, guitar and upright bass.

As Founder and Director of The Brooklyn Americana Music Festival now in its tenth year, Jan Bell brings a taste of the festival back to Brooklyn Bridge Park, where her festival was Voted Best of Brooklyn (Empire State Awards) Cultural Event 2023.

8:00 PM: Tyrone Cotton

Tyrone Cotton plays folk, blues, soul, jazz and rock’n’roll. A fixture on the Louisville music scene for the past 30 years. His grandfather was a Baptist preacher, the Reverend Cleveland Roosevelt Williams, who sang with near-illegal charm, and was Cotton’s first musical hero. Other influences include Smokey Robinson, Guy Clark, and Sam Cooke, although he draws his greatest inspiration from Bob Dylan, of whom Cotton says, “He’s the mountain!” – Americana UK.

8:45 PM: Mike Younger

Mike Younger is a seasoned recording artist and troubadour in the blues, folk, country and rock n roll traditions who started out as a street musician. He was ‘discovered’ busking in New Orleans by country legend Rodney Crowell. His latest album ‘Burning the Big Top Down’ was made in Memphis. Younger’s song ‘ Poisoned Rivers’ was a rallying call during his activism at Standing Rock, and the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Now based in Nashville TN, where he and his lady raise livestock on a small acreage and are bee keepers.
