Join educators in identifying and counting birds as part of the 29th annual Great Backyard Bird Count.
Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Educators in identifying and counting birds as part of the 29th annual Great Backyard Bird Count. This is an adult-centered program, inviting you to participate in a world-wide community science event. Help us collect data for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada and contribute to their annual survey of all the birds in the world.
We will begin our count at Pier 1, at the Pavilion, and walk through as much of the Park as possible within our two-hour window. There will be some stairs involved and uneven ground. Bathrooms will be available at multiple locations.
No prior birding experience necessary. A limited number of binoculars will be available so bring your own if you have them. This event is first-come, first-serve with 15 spots available. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required.
We also have a Family Friendly Great Backyard Bird Count on Saturday, February 14
