Unifying Organizations Increases Operational Efficiency and Expands Fundraising Opportunities to Support Future Growth of the Park
Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy today announced a strategic consolidation that will unify programming operations and transition the Conservancy’s role to include support for capital projects and long-term investments. This plan will streamline Brooklyn Bridge Park’s management across multiple areas while ensuring the park continues to thrive as a world-class waterfront destination. This announcement coincides with the park’s 15th anniversary and marks the beginning of a new growth phase focusing on enhanced world-class programming, features, and amenities.
The restructuring will transition Conservancy programming staff to Brooklyn Bridge Park, creating a more integrated and efficient operation. The Conservancy will maintain its status as an independent nonprofit, now with a new mission to exclusively fundraise for both programming and park improvement projects.
“This step represents a natural evolution in the stewardship of Brooklyn Bridge Park,” said Eric Landau, President of Brooklyn Bridge Park . “By integrating the operations of the two organizations, we’re creating a more sustainable organizational model that improves our ability to maintain, improve, and invest in the Park for generations of New Yorkers to enjoy.”
Nancy Webster, Executive Director of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, said, “The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy has brought the Park to life through innovative public programming throughout the Park’s history. We’re excited to take on our new mission to support critical infrastructure projects. This new chapter enables us to take a more comprehensive approach to ensuring the Park’s long-term success.”
The 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park has transformed the Brooklyn waterfront into a dynamic public space offering millions of visitors recreational, environmental, and cultural experiences annually. Park visitors will experience no disruption during the transition and will continue to enjoy the diverse programming and exceptional maintenance that have made Brooklyn Bridge Park a premier global destination.
