BROOKLYN, Sept. 19, 2023 — The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (“Conservancy”) is pleased to announce the election of Dave Cho to the organization’s Board of Directors. The election took place today, September 19, at the Conservancy’s Board Meeting.
“We’re excited to welcome Dave to our Board of Directors,” shared Chris Coffey, Conservancy Board Chairman. “His love of the Park and his distinctive background as both an Army officer and entrepreneur brings a wealth of knowledge and talent in supporting our work. As we continue to uphold our mission of providing free and affordable recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities for everyone to enjoy in Brooklyn Bridge Park, we know his expertise will be a strong asset towards our ongoing growth.”
Cho shared, “We live in Brooklyn Heights and can say that what we personally love so much about the Conservancy’s work is that it’s really not meant for those with great means, but for those without and making it as accessible (and free) for all New Yorkers of all backgrounds. I am excited for the opportunity to serve and contribute to this amazing work and mission!”
ABOUT DAVE CHO
Dave Cho is the Co-Founder & CEO of Soko Glam, an ecommerce beauty platform with the most trusted curation of skincare products for all skin types. He started the company in 2012 with his co-founder and, most importantly, his wife Charlotte Cho.
Before starting Soko Glam, Dave spent over eight years on active duty in the U.S. Army, serving all around the world, to include a deployment to the Middle East. He was a combat arms officer and most notably served as a light infantry company commander, leading over 120 infantrymen with a wartime mission. He’s a Bronze Star recipient for his actions under combat.
Dave received a MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. When he’s not daydreaming about cleansing balms, he can probably be found at a Brooklyn Heights playground with his wife and their daughter Kennedy. They are members of Plymouth Church, parents at Plymouth Church School, and enjoy frequent walks as a family through the park – which usually include ice cream and carousel rides.
