Sugar in the Raw presents this year’s Festival

Brooklyn, NY, October 20, 2016—With the weather cooling and the leaves turning, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (Conservancy) invites the community to celebrate the fall season at the Park. In partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP), the Conservancy is pleased to host the seventh annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 29. Beginning at 11:00 am, the day will include pumpkin carving, puppetry, and musical performances. Special thanks to our even sponsors: Sugar in the Raw, TD Bank, and Better Homes and Gardens.

The Festival marks the close of a summer filled with over 500 free public programs and activities in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

“We’re excited to team up with our incredible community partners to put on this year’s Festival,” said Nancy Webster, Executive Director of the Conservancy. “Their activities and support ensure that the Park remains lively well after the summer season.”

“The Harvest Festival is always a great way to celebrate the change in seasons at the Park,” said outgoing Brooklyn Bridge Park President Regina Myer. “This time last year, we opened new parkland at Pier 6 and it’s been wonderful to see so many visitors enjoying its lush lawns, flower fields, stunning views, and the Conservancy’s fantastic programs.”

All are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy a day packed with fall fun. Get ready to make art with Private Picassos, get active with Dodge YMCA’s obstacle courses, dare yourself to take a tour of the Haunted Marsh, try tasty snacks from B. Good, explore the Conservancy’s terrarium, make instruments with the Little Orchestra Society, enjoy face painting from Broadway’s CATS, decorate pumpkins and much more!

Festival Partners: Atlantic Avenue BID, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, CATS the Musical, Dodge YMCA, The Little Orchestra Society, Maniac Pumpkin Carvers, Private Picassos, A Royal Shindig, and Volunteers for Wildlife.
