Do you feel like you need a moment of pause and a deeper connection with nature? Join us on the first Saturday of each month for a free nature journaling workshop. The 90-minute workshop helps you start or expand your nature journaling practice, providing you with ecological context, thematic prompts and time to journal.
This month’s theme, “Fall Phenology”, invites you to use your senses to observe the changing seasons as we enter fall. Learn about the science behind autumn as we reflect on themes of transition, rest and decay. Taking place at Pier 6, educators will be waiting by the Pier 6 Ferry Terminal until 10:05am before moving to the site of the workshop.
This series is intended for adults, but all are welcome. Materials are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own materials and journals if you have them. This event is first come, first serve, with 20 total spots available. Advance registration encouraged but not required.
Accessibility Note: Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions. The paths on the pier are paved, and the workshop will take place about 500 ft from the meeting location. The workshop will take place on grass lawns which have minor inclines. Cushions and stepstools are provided for seating, and park benches are also available. Bathrooms are nearby at Fornino’s restaurant.
Please leave your furry friends at home.
