Aurora Nealand is a singer, multi instrumentalist (clarinet, saxophone, accordion, and guitar) based in New Orleans. She is known mostly as a jazz band leader (she played herself on the HBO series ‘Treme’); and also composes experimental jazz, and plays major North American Stages (New Orleans Jazz Fest, Montreal Jazz Fest, Kennedy Center) and in Europe (Copenhagen Jazz Fest, Istanbul Jazz Fest) . Aurora is a McDowell Arts Colony fellow, and plays NYC once or twice a year (Lincoln Center, Summerstage) with musicians in the style of her New Orleans band.
Saudia Young is a Native New Yorker and long time Dumbo artist. Rhythm and Blues to Django Swing to Jive. Harkens back to Cab Calloway. Her album ‘Noir Rockabilly Blues’ caught the attention of the Ameripolitan Awards (Memphis TN), Saudia also made her home in Berlin, where she recorded at the legendary ‘Lightning Recorders Studio’, described as ‘A vintage sound meets modern blues’.

As of May 23, 2011, Brooklyn Bridge Park is a smoke-free park, consistent with New York City law. On April 29, 2014, the Smoke-Free Air Act was expanded to include the use electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). The law is intended to make parks healthier and cleaner places to visit. We ask your compliance.
Yes. There are water fountains throughout Brooklyn Bridge Park and each has a water bottle filling feature.
Water fountains are turned off for the winter season when outside temperatures reach freezing.
Parking near Brooklyn Bridge Park is very limited. We recommend using public transportation, biking, or walking to the Park. BBP is accessible by bus, subway and ferry. Get details on ways to get to the Park.
There are limited metered parking spaces in a public parking lot on Furman Street near Pier 2. The parking spaces are metered for both a minimum and a maximum of three hours. Please note that parking on the Loop Road (between Pier 5 and Pier 6) is not allowed, it is a drop-off space only.
There are two paid parking garages in the Park. A parking garage operated by City Parking is located near Pier 6, accessible on the south side of 360 Furman Street. A parking garage operated by LAZ is located near Pier 1, accessible on the south side of 90 Furman Street (under Squibb Bridge). Additionally, several paid garages are located within short walking distance to the Park.
Leashed dogs are welcome on park pathways, but dogs are not allowed on lawns. There are two dog runs: one located at Pier 6 and one at John Street, each open 6:30am–10:00pm daily. Dog runs are routinely washed and pet waste bags are available at each dog run. Dogs must be licensed with visible identification tags and vaccinated for rabies.
Non-salt ice melt is used on park pathways during icy conditions.
