Do you like to sketchbook? Are you interested in starting? Join Brooklyn Bridge Park educators and other like-minded people in a sketchbooking meet-up. Each time, we will meet at a different location in the park to concentrate on different subjects and stretch our skills. Come to one event or come to all. It’s up to you. These are informal sessions with some instruction for those who are new to the practice as well as an open exchange of ideas, techniques, and materials.
This month we will be exploring the Pier 4 beach and its rocky intertidal zone. The meeting point will be on the Pier 4 beach.
We encourage you to bring your own, favorite sketching materials, but we will provide some for those who don’t have. This program is intended for adults, although older teens are welcome as well. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required. There will be 25 spots available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Accessibility Note: This workshop will take place at Pier 4 beach. The ground is uneven, sandy, and rocky in places, but there is a nearby paved walkway. Seating will either be on stone steps or cushions. We will have a limited number of stools. There is very little shade! Closest bathrooms are at the Boathouse. Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions.

On April 29, 2014, the Smoke-Free Air Act was expanded to include the use electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). The law is intended to make parks healthier and cleaner places to visit.
