Do you like to sketchbook? Are you interested in starting? Join Brooklyn Bridge Park educators and other like-minded people in a sketchbooking meet-up. Each time, we will meet at a different location in the park to concentrate on different subjects and stretch our skills. Come to one event or come to all. It’s up to you. These are informal sessions with some instruction for those who are new to the practice as well as an open exchange of ideas, techniques, and materials.
This month we will be meeting at Pier 3, where there are an abundance of summer trees and bushes to draw. Meeting point will be on the lawn, closer to the park side of the pier.
We encourage you to bring your own, favorite sketching materials, but we will provide some for those who don’t have. This program is intended for adults, although older teens are welcome as well. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required. There will be 25 spots available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Accessibility Note: This workshop will take place on Pier 3, mostly on flat, grass-covered ground, but there are some paved areas. Seating will be either on logs or cushions. The closest bathrooms are on Pier 2 or at the Boathouse above the Pier 4 beach. Please reach out to education@bbp.nyc for any accessibility needs or questions.
Please leave your furry friends at home.
