Storytime with Katie Yamasaki: Ripples

Sunday, April 19, 2026 · 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Pier 5 Uplands

Join for an Earth Day inspired celebration by Books Are Magic, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and author-illustrator Katie Yamasaki. Katie will read from her newest picture book, Ripples! The reading will be followed by a book signing and an opportunity to take part in a family friendly gardening project, led by Brooklyn Bridge Park staff, to help care for the Park’s green spaces.

Celebrated artist Katie Yamasaki’s newest picture book, Ripples, is a nuanced, lyrical celebration of our connections to each other and the environment. With electric, eye–catching illustrations, Ripples reminds us of the value of care and the ways we can perform it—for each other, and for the world around us.

Click here to visit the Books Are Magic website for full details and to RSVP.

RSVP is highly encouraged but not required. Walk-ins will be accepted until the event reaches capacity.
