Group Volunteering

Activities are based around the seasonal needs of the Park and may involve tasks such as weeding, mulching, trash collection, and fence removal. Wherever possible, projects can be adapted to be appropriate for the group.  

All projects take place outdoors and may be held at different locations throughout the Park. 

Group volunteer events typically last for 2 hours, which includes an introduction to the Park, overview of the project, and completion of the activity. 

Groups may request a project date on either a weekday or a weekend, subject to project availability. 

We typically accommodate groups of up to 30 volunteers. This helps ensure a positive experience for participants and allows us to deliver high-quality, impactful projects.

There is no fee required for a school or community group to volunteer at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Volunteer activities take place outdoors and are generally on uneven terrain. Projects will likely involve bending, squatting, standing, and light lifting. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss any accessibility requirements or requests for your group.

Yes, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers school field trips and stewardship opportunities for teens, as well as volunteer opportunities for individuals and corporate groups.
