Permits must be obtained prior to undertaking regulated activities as defined in the Park Rules and Regulations.

Generally, permits are required if you want to (this list is not exclusive or exhaustive):

• bring a group larger than 20 people into the Park;
• host a wedding ceremony;
• film or photograph for professional or commercial purposes;
• rent access to a sports fields or courts

To host an event or an activity in Brooklyn Bridge Park you must have an approved permit from Brooklyn Bridge Park. This process insures that any given area of the Park is not over crowded and that organizations are properly supported and insured. If you would like to host an event or activity in the Park, please review the conditions for a special events permit.

Yes, if you find an item in the Park you can give it to any Park staff member or drop it off at our office at 334 Furman Street (near Pier 5). If you have lost an item please complete this form here, if the item is found we will contact you.

Yes, there are restrooms at the following locations:

• Pier 6 at Fornino
• Pier 6 in Quay Tower across from Sandbox Village
• Pier 5 Uplands in the Boathouse
• Pier 2 orange building
• Pier 1 Pavilion
• Empire Stores in Empire Fulton Ferry
• 99 Plymouth Environmental Education Center

Yes, the majority of events in the Park are free. Please check the events calendar for more information on individual events.

No, cooking equipment of any kind, including sternos and other heating equipment, is no permitted in the Park. This type of equipment could endanger other park patrons or the natural environment. Grills are available for first come, first served use at the Pier 5 Picnic Peninsula.

No, picnic tables and grilling areas are on a first come, first serve basis. When the grilling area is busy, we ask that grills are only used for one hour at a time.

You must bring your own equipment to play any of the sports at the park.

Parking near Brooklyn Bridge Park is very limited. We recommend using public transportation, biking, or walking to the Park. BBP is accessible by bus, subway and ferry. Get details on ways to get to the Park.

There are limited metered parking spaces in a public parking lot on Furman Street near Pier 2. The parking spaces are metered for both a minimum and a maximum of three hours. Please note that parking on the Loop Road (between Pier 5 and Pier 6) is not allowed, it is a drop-off space only.

There are two paid parking garages in the Park. A parking garage operated by City Parking is located near Pier 6, accessible on the south side of 360 Furman Street. A parking garage operated by LAZ is located near Pier 1, accessible on the south side of 90 Furman Street (under Squibb Bridge). Additionally, several paid garages are located within short walking distance to the Park.

There is no public access to the roof. Watertower 3: R.V. can be viewed well from the lawn in the Pier 5 Uplands.

Drop in to play on the Pier 5 turf or Pier 6 volleyball courts when leagues are not scheduled. Drop in times are first come, first served. Leagues that have timed permits are not allowed to use open play times. When others are looking to play, please keep play time to one hour. All pickleball courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to host a tournament, or other type of Pickleball special event, a special event permit is required.
