Summer Camp Visits

Bring your day camp, youth, or school group Brooklyn Bridge Park this summer for educational programs on the waterfront!

CAMP FIELD TRIPS

Brooklyn Bridge Park offers free summer field trip lessons to camps or organizations whose missions offer completely free or low-cost programming for the majority of their participants. Our summer field trip lessons offerings are adaptable for all types of learners and can be taught in Spanish.

If your camp or organization does not meet the above free or low-cost requirement, summer field trip lessons are $150 for a class.

For summer 2026, we are offering two, hands-on, experiential STEM, hour-long lessons Availability is on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting from Monday June 29 through August 31. If these dates don’t work for you, feel free to reach out to education@bbp.nyc, as we may be able to accommodate program requests.

2026 CAMP PROGRAMS

Between the Tides (Grades 1-4)

  • Explore the intertidal zone habitat of the East River estuary and tidal strait. Students will learn how to use a quadrat to measure, make observations, and record data about the natural and non-natural materials that they find on the shore of the Park.
  • DURATION: 60 minutes
  • LOCATION: Pier 4 Beach or Environmental Education Center, seasonally. If class is outside, you should anticipate the potential for full sunlight. Class will be on uneven ground of rocks and beach as they explore.

Book Between the Tides

Plankton and Plastics (Grades 4-12)

What’s in the East River that we cannot see with our eyes? Students will learn about two tiny aquatic drifters: plankton and microplastics. Students collect water samples and use scientific equipment to examine them closely.

DURATION: 60 minutes

LOCATION: Pier 5. Outdoor component could have mixed shade and sunlight, with walking on concrete paths.

FIELD DAY TRIPS

If you’re looking to plan a general field day visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park with your group, please note a permit is required. School and camp groups are allowed for a maximum group size of 200, with 1 adult present for every 10 children. Brooklyn Bridge Park has a limited number of school bus layover parking and is not guaranteed. Insurance is required for schools outside of the New York City public school system. Please see the permits page for more information.
